Rimal opens with saffron and bergamot, a sharp and bright pair that gives way to oud and Bulgarian rose in the heart. The rose is deep and slightly medicinal, sitting beside ambergris and amberwood that add weight without turning heavy. Hedione lifts the florals so the oud does not dominate. Tonka bean and sugar appear in the base, joined by fir resin and cedar. The sugar is noticeable and pushes the scent toward a gourmand feel, though oakmoss and white musk keep it from becoming pure dessert. Ambroxan adds a clean, dry edge that cuts through the sweeter notes. The overall impression is amber, woody and musky with clear floral and spicy threads running through it.
The scent feels polished and modern, leaning sweet and resinous rather than dry or austere. It suits cooler weather and evening wear, and it fits someone who enjoys oud paired with sugar and rose. The synthetic edge on the ambroxan and hedione is pronounced, and the sugar can feel loud next to the wood. The rose and oud are well handled, but the sweetness is not balanced by enough bitter or green material. The fir resin and oakmoss are present yet too quiet to rein in the sugar. For those who prefer a drier profile, the candied tone here is the clear limitation.
