Rose Oud

Character
Rose Oud by MAISON ASRAR opens with davana and bergamot brightened by a caramel note that adds a soft, rounded sweetness. The davana brings a slightly fruity, herbal edge that keeps the citrus from feeling sharp. Bergamot lifts the top with a clean, pale yellow brightness that fades as the florals take over. Caramel stays close to the surface without becoming sticky or heavy.
The heart centers on rose supported by freesia and lily-of-the-valley. The rose feels smooth and slightly dewy, while the freesia adds a light, airy quality that prevents the flower from dominating. Lily-of-the-valley contributes a green, crisp touch that keeps the middle fresh. Together they create a floral phase that is elegant and not overly powdery.
Base notes of oud, ambergris, and leather give the drydown a dark, resinous weight. The oud is woody and slightly medicinal, paired with the salty, animalic warmth of ambergris. Leather adds a dry, textured finish that grounds the earlier florals. The overall impression is rich and layered, suited to cool air and dim lighting where the heavier notes can sit close to the skin and shift slowly through the evening
