Among The Clouds
Fragrance notes
Character
Among The Clouds opens with a blast of wild berries so tart and jammy they practically squeak against the teeth, then quickly folds into a spun-sugar whipped cream that feels more like a dollop of Cool Whip than anything from a farm. The vanilla base arrives soft and woody, but it never deepens. It stays flat and diffuse, a gauzy backdrop rather than a warm embrace. The whole thing reads as a cotton candy sunset in a plastic cup, fizzy and pastel and utterly determined to be pleasant.
This is a fragrance built for the Instagram grid, not for a memory. It wears like a spritz of berry-scented body mist from a drugstore aisle, synthetic in the most cheerful way, and that’s not a crime. But the numbers do not lie: longevity clocks in at a 2.28, sillage at a 2.20. By the time you reach the checkout counter, you will need to reapply. That faint woody accord in the dry down is the only hint of adulthood, and it evaporates fast.
Best in the heat of a summer afternoon or a mild spring morning, worn as a mood booster rather than a statement. Wear it to brunch, to the farmers market, to a first date you aren’t sure about. Skip it if you want to be remembered after lunch, if you demand complexity, or if the scent of sweetened berries and vanilla reminds you of a candle you already burned through last season. Among The Clouds is a fleeting pleasure, a cotton candy cloud that dissolves before you can catch it. That is its charm and its limitation.
