Our take

Dark Kiss opens with a jammy rush of plum and raspberry, glossy and sweet, like a fistful of bruised fruit crushed into velvet. The bergamot flickers briefly before the incense rises, not churchy or austere, but a warm, resinous smolder that pulls the berry sweetness into shadow. Midway, the rose peeks through, powdery and dusky, while black vanilla husk and musk anchor everything in that familiar Bath & Body Works amber base. It dries down to a creamy, slightly smoky sweetness that clings close to the skin.

The overall character is a glittering goth teenager at a autumn carnival, all crushed velvet and cheap eyeliner, clutching a half-eaten candy apple while the Ferris wheel creaks in the fog. It feels synthetic in the way most mall fragrances do, but that synthetic edge is part of its charm, a deliberate, glossy artifice that never pretends to be niche. It is heavy and sweet, leaning into fall and winter evenings, best worn when you want to feel a little sultry on a budget.

The numbers do not lie: longevity barely touches three hours, and sillage hovers in a soft whisper. This is a fragrance for evenings out when you want a fleeting mood, not a commitment. Skip it if you demand projection or all-day wear. It suits someone who loves the idea of a dark, fruity oriental but needs it at a drugstore price point and does not mind reapplying. Wear it to a dive bar in November, or curled up under a blanket with a horror movie.
