Nero Parentani can feel a little unresolved when the patchouli sits too heavy against the lavender. The balance sometimes leans earthy in a way that reads muddy rather than grounded, and the star anise does not always lift it cleanly.
A wool coat on a damp street captures the mood well. The air is cool enough that the anise feels sharp, the lavender carries a dry herbal edge, and the patchouli stays close to the fabric. It reads aromatic and balsamic, with soft spicy and warm spicy accents that make the whole profile feel layered without becoming sweet. The woody and floral facets keep it from collapsing into something flat, and the earthy side gives it a quiet texture that suits a gray sky and wet pavement.
The patchouli can still dominate when the lavender steps back, and the star anise sometimes fails to brighten that weight. The composition stays interesting, but the blend does not always cooperate.
