Our take

Beach Klub begins with palisander rosewood and birch leaf, joined by a crisp apple note that adds a brief lift before the composition moves forward. The opening feels dry and slightly resinous, with the wood providing a firm structure while the leaf contributes a green edge that does not soften the blend. This stage is short and purposeful, guiding the fragrance toward its central character without lingering on brightness.

The heart introduces leather and cade oil, supported by oregano. The leather is prominent and rendered with a dry, slightly tarry quality from the cade oil, while the oregano adds an herbal sharpness that keeps the midsection from feeling heavy or overly smooth. Smoke rises through this layer, sitting close to the leather rather than drifting above it, and the overall impression is rugged and unpolished in a way that suits a dimly lit room where the air feels thick.

Vanilla and castoreum anchor the base, with musk, guaiac wood, and civet rounding out the drydown. The vanilla is present but restrained, allowing the animalic notes to take the lead as the wood deepens the foundation. Civet and castoreum create a musky, powdery warmth that feels dense and persistent, while the guaiac wood adds a dry, charred facet that echoes the cade oil from earlier. The result is a leather fragrance that stays smoky and woody throughout, with the animalic accords growing more pronounced as the vanilla recedes into the background
