Our take

Meotida smells like a basket of overripe berries left on a stone table under an olive tree. The strawberry and raspberry arrive first, but they are not bright or candy-like. They feel dark and heavy, supported by a thick honey note that makes the fruit smell dense. The peach and linden blossom are barely present, overshadowed by the weight of the opening. This is a fragrance that feels grounded in the earth rather than floating in the air.

The heart reveals a strange and compelling mix of rose and thyme. The herbal thyme cuts through the sticky sweetness of the honey, while the olive tree accord adds a bitter, green woodiness that feels very natural. It prevents the middle from becoming a simple floral syrup. As it settles, the base takes over with a classic fougere structure. The patchouli and oakmoss provide a damp, forest-floor texture, and the labdanum and tonka bean wrap that earthiness in a warm, balsamic resin.

The combination is unique, but the honey and tonka bean create a persistent sweetness that might overwhelm those who prefer dry, austere scents. It is a heavy composition that demands a specific mood. The bitterness of the olive tree and thyme tries to balance the sugar, yet the gourmand elements ultimately dominate the profile. If you dislike honeyed florals or find patchouli too dense, this particular blend will feel cloying.
