Autumn
Fragrance notes
Character
You sit in a dim kitchen while rain taps the window and a plate of warm cookies rests on the table beside a half-peeled orange. Karen Doué Autumn moves through the room like steam rising from a mug, its mango and fig catching the damp air first, bright and tropical against the gray light. The fruit does not stay playful for long. Cookie and vanilla drift in next, soft and crumbly, followed by a breath of jasmine that keeps the sweetness from becoming heavy. Oud and myrrh sit underneath it all, resinous and dark, turning the air balsamic and warm. Sandalwood smooths the edges so the spices never bite, and the whole room smells like a mix of pastry, wood, and rain-soaked earth.
Someone nearby lifts a wooden bowl of raspberries and the scent shifts again, the berries adding a tart flicker that cuts through the sugar. Powdery notes settle on your sleeves like fine dust, lingering in the fabric while the resins hum in the background. It feels indulgent and a bit old-fashioned, the kind of air that belongs in a house full of books and dried flowers, where the door stays closed against the cold and the only thing moving is the steam from the stove. The vanilla deepens, the oud grows richer, and the cookie accord crumbles further into the air
