It is dark and steeped in alcohol, blending with pink pepper to create a fizzy, spicy heat that sits close to the skin. As the initial boozy rush settles, saffron and incense take over the center of the composition. The heliotrope adds a powdery, almond-like softness that rounds out the sharper edges of the spice, preventing the opening from feeling too abrasive.
The foundation is a dense mix of oud, amber, and Peru balsam, creating a deep balsamic resin quality that defines the drydown. Sandalwood and cypriol add earthy, woody textures that anchor the sweeter resin notes. This is a scent built for a dimly lit room where the air is cool and the atmosphere feels intimate and heavy. It wraps around the wearer like a dense fabric. The blend relies heavily on synthetic amber molecules that can feel a bit sharp and metallic against the natural warmth of the balsam, lacking the smooth transition found in more refined compositions.
