Our take

Grapefruit opens sharp and bitter, with sage adding a savory, herbal edge that gives the citrus a green, almost culinary quality instead of straightforward sweetness. Orange blossom softens the pairing just slightly, though sage stays the dominant voice through the whole opening, never really stepping aside.

Nutmeg, orris root and pimento move into the heart, warm and slightly powdery, with the pimento giving a faint peppery heat that keeps some of the sage's greenness alive.

Vetiver, woodsy notes, oakmoss and amber form a long, earthy base, and here the fragrance finally settles into its real, lasting character. The vetiver stays distinctly dry and a little bitter, oakmoss adds a damp, forest-floor depth, and amber brings just enough warmth to keep the whole base wearable, grounded and never austere. It keeps going well past the first application, and it holds a modest cloud that stays within reach.

Spring through fall daytime wear covers most of what Grey Vetiver is built for, office-friendly and versatile without much need for cold weather to feel complete. It works equally well for a single reliable citrus-and-vetiver signature and for layering under a jacket for something more formal. The earthy base is the part that keeps people coming back to it once the grapefruit has faded from memory.
