Our take

Telea opens with a crisp, almost candied pear and a squeeze of citrus that feels like the first bite of a spring morning, but the Bulgarian rose and hawthorn tuck in quickly with a powdery, slightly almond-sweet floral blush. The heart leans into lush jasmine and ylang-ylang, heavy with heliotrope’s vanilla-tinged powder, before the base reveals a surprising turn: warm mahogany, dry oak, and a whisper of Cambodian oud that never gets feral, all grounded by clean musk and a faint, grassy vetiver. The overall character is that of an antique wooden vanity tray piled high with fresh fruit and wilted roses—pretty, nostalgic, but a little too polite to leave a lasting impression.

This is a safe, well-blended woody floral musk that tilts more mainstream niche than daring artisanal. The sweetness stays tame, the oud is a ghost, and while it’s perfectly pleasant, the sillage is modest and longevity only moderate—you’ll need to reapply for an evening out. It shines brightest in spring and summer, during daytime hours, on someone who wants a gently opulent, office-friendly floral with an unexpected woody base. Skip it if you crave smoke, barnyard, or anything with teeth: Telea is a comfortable, pretty fragrance that never quite convinces you it’s worth the price of admission.
