Vetiver 88
Fragrance notes
Character
Viking Vetiver 88 opens with a bright, tart citrus blend where lemon and lime take the lead, softened by the smooth, slightly bitter edge of bergamot and the earthy green tinge of oakmoss. It feels immediately fresh but not thin, as the citrus sits on a quiet woody undertone that keeps it from turning sharp or soapy. Very soon a dry, faintly resinous mahogany note rises in the heart, followed by a controlled dusting of cinnamon that adds gentle heat without veering sweet. Jasmine and geranium float through the background, the jasmine lending a clean white floral lift and the geranium reinforcing the green, slightly herbal character already set by the oakmoss. As it develops, the Haitian vetiver steps forward with its distinct earthy, smoky rootiness, supported by cedar and sandalwood that give the blend a dry, polished wood foundation. Vanilla appears late and in low concentration, rounding off the sharper edges just enough to keep the vetiver from feeling too austere. The overall impression stays firmly woody and aromatic, with fresh spicy and warm spicy accents that never overpower the citrus and earth at its core. It suits a relaxed daytime setting where a crisp, natural-smelling scent feels appropriate, and it pairs well with simple, unfussy clothing and an unhurried pace. The finish rests on a clean vetiver and vanilla accord that feels dry, earthy, and quietly refined.
