Our take

There’s something almost apologetic about 312 Saint-Honoré, as if it knows exactly how fleeting it is. The opening is a brisk whisper of pink pepper and angelica root, green and peppery without any bite. Then the heart blooms onto skin like a half-opened orange blossom pressed against iris powder and a faint smear of tonka, soft, polite, and utterly resigned to being skin adjacent. The dry down reveals white musk and ambroxan over a ghost of Thailand oud, but the oud never snarls; it’s a rumor at best. The whole composition behaves like a cashmere scarf in a spring breeze, light enough to evaporate before anyone really notices.

That’s the charm and the frustration. With longevity barely scraping a 3.2 and sillage trailing at a modest 2.4, this is not a perfume that announces itself. It’s a scent you wear for yourself, a powdered, musky veil with just enough animalic warmth to keep from being strictly floral. It feels deliberately transparent, more natural than synthetic, but too diffident to be called assertive niche or crowd-pleasing mainstream. Who should wear it? Someone who wants a clean, iris-forward skin scent for daytime errands or a quiet brunch in early spring. Who should skip it? Anyone who expects their fragrance to last past lunch or project louder than a sigh. It’s a pretty ghost, but ghosts don’t stay long.
