Our take

Cumin and civet sit high in the blend, and they will divide the room. The opening carries a sharp, sweaty edge that some will find abrasive and others will prize as the point of the fragrance. It is not a smooth entry, and it does not try to be.

Siberian rhododendron leads with a cool, green bitterness that quickly gives way to the heart. Narcissus and carnation bring a powdery, clove-tinged floral weight, while gardenia adds a creamy softness that tries to round the sharper spices. The flowers here feel dry rather than dewy.

Beeswax and honey accords lend a thick, golden sweetness to the base, where Indian oud and cacao add dark, resinous depth. Clove leaf and oakmoss keep the foundation earthy and slightly bitter, while vetiver threads through with a clean, rooty finish that cuts the heavier materials.

The overall impression is dense and animalic, suited to a cold night when the air is sharp and the streets are quiet. It wears close to the skin in texture even as the spices demand attention, a study in contrasts that keeps pulling the nose back to the wrist as the beeswax
