Bulgarian rose and rose water open with a soft, dewy freshness that immediately meets the dry heat of black pepper and frankincense. The initial floral brightness does not stay light for long. Osmanthus and frangipani bring a ripe, juicy peach tone that sits comfortably beside the creamy depth of Indian sandalwood and the gentle sharpness of cloves and cardamom. A faint thread of synthetic civet and natural musk pushes through the flowers, adding a slightly dirty, animalic texture that keeps the sweetness from feeling clean or polite. Tonka bean rounds out the heart with a warm, hay-like softness that prepares the ground for the woods waiting underneath.
The base is a thick, resinous blend of oud and Laotian oud, dark and medicinal, softened by the vanilla-like glow of benzoin and the green, slightly acidic bite of betel leaf.
