Our take

Summer of 84 opens with a slap of grapefruit and lemon, sharp enough to cut through August humidity. The citrus is quickly joined by melon and a clean water note, like diving into a cold pool with a slice of fruit in hand. Bergamot keeps things aromatic, while white flowers and musk hover in the background, never sweet, never heavy. This is a fragrance that feels deliberately synthetic in the best possible way, like a vintage beach towel or the chemical gloss of a vinyl inflatable. Its overall character is a slice of watermelon resting on a sun-bleached plastic cooler, the air thick with chlorine and whispers of sunscreen.

The dry down is where it fades gracefully into a soft, barely there musk. That is also its greatest weakness. Longevity is average at best, sillage modest. You get a bright burst for an hour, then a skin scent for two more. It is not a projector. It does not demand attention. It simply sits close, refreshing without insistence.

This is a fragrance for spring and summer days, best worn to the farmers market, a backyard barbecue, or a lazy afternoon by the water. If you need something that roars or lasts through dinner, skip it. But if you want the olfactory equivalent of a cold lemonade on a hot afternoon, Summer of 84 does exactly what it promises. Why ask for more when that is already enough?
