Our take

Nina Illusion kicks off with a sharp, electric spritz of yuzu and Italian lemon, the pink pepper adding a fizzy, almost candied heat that promises more than it delivers. That citrus spark fades quickly into a syrupy raspberry and orange blossom jam, sweet and a bit flat, like a fruit spread left out in the sun. The dry down settles into a familiar patchouli and bourbon vanilla cloud, soft and powdery, but it hugs the skin so close you’ll be pressing your wrist to your nose to catch it.

This is a fragrance built for a spring afternoon, a blur of pink petals and plastic-wrapped candy. It wears like a sheer cotton dress — pretty, girlish, and entirely forgettable once the sun goes down. The sillage is a whisper and the longevity barely scrapes three hours, so you’ll need to reapply if you want anyone to notice. It feels thoroughly mainstream, a competent but cautious composition from Olivier Cresp and Nicolas Bonneville that never takes a risk.

Who should wear it? The teenager dreaming of her first love note, or the woman who wants a light, sweet spritz for brunch and nothing more. Who should skip it? Anyone craving depth, intrigue, or a scent that doesn’t evaporate before the dessert menu arrives. Wear it on a Sunday morning with a stack of pancakes, not on a Friday night. What’s the point of a perfume that vanishes before you do?
