Poseidon
Fragrance notes
Poseidon opens with a loud fruit salad of strawberry, cherry, peach, orange, and coconut that feels bright and playful. The fruit is syrupy and leans into the sweet accord immediately, with the coconut adding a creamy roundness that stops the citrus from feeling sharp. Eucalyptus and ginger arrive early to cut through the sugar, while jasmine and tulip bring a soft floral layer that keeps the heart from becoming a candy shop. Cedar and iris add a clean, slightly powdery structure that prepares the ground for what follows.
The drydown is where the fragrance finds its actual identity. Vanilla and amber wrap the earlier fruit in a warm, resinous blanket, while saffron and leather introduce a dry, slightly animalic edge that feels unexpected. White musk and vetiver ground the base with a woody, earthy texture that keeps the sweetness from becoming cloying. The result is a fruity floral wearing a leather jacket, which sounds more daring than it actually smells. The limitation here is the leather and saffron feel thin, more like a suggestion than a statement, so the base never develops the depth its ingredient list promises.
