Our take

Horus opens with a bright citrus lift from grapefruit and apple, quickly joined by rosemary, cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The spices feel dry and aromatic rather than sweet, giving the entrance a crisp, kitchen-like clarity. Lavender enters soon after, softened by incense and cloves that add a gentle resinous weight. The heart stays warm and lightly medicinal, with the lavender bridging the fresh top and the heavier base. Cyperus esculentus, Haitian vetiver, sandalwood, patchouli, licorice, and amber form a dense, earthy foundation that leans balsamic and woody. Licorice adds a faint anise thread that deepens the amber without turning gourmand. The scent feels composed and steady, moving from citrus to spice to resin with clear steps.

Horus suits cooler days and evening wear, when its warm spicy and amber accords feel most at home. It reads as a traditional oriental spicy fragrance with a modern citrus touch, composed by Ibrahim Al Zoabi. The blend is cohesive, though the licorice can dominate the base for those sensitive to anise. The larger limitation is the synthetic edge that appears in the heart, where the lavender and cloves lack natural texture. This sharpness interrupts the smoothness the amber and sandalwood try to build.
