Our take

The first spray of Damah brings a sharp citron and bitter orange that feels like peeling fruit in a bright kitchen. Tuberose rises quickly and dominates the heart, creamy and loud against the lighter orange blossom. Elemi resin adds a pale, lemony bite to the white flowers, keeping them from smelling flat. The base turns dense with patchouli that smells earthy and dark, mixing with oud that feels dry and woody rather than sweet. Incense lifts through the heavier notes with a clean, gray smoke that recalls a room warmed by a burning bundle. The overall impression is balsamic and warm spicy, a thick white floral that wears a resinous coat.

The composition sits somewhere between a niche resin study and a polished mainstream floral, with a synthetic gloss on the citrus that fades faster than the rest. Some wearers will find the tuberose overwhelming and the patchouli too muddy when the incense retreats. The oud here lacks the animalic depth found in Middle Eastern blends, reading instead as a smooth wooden plank beneath the flowers. For anyone who dislikes heavy white florals, the opening alone will feel like too much. The price places it in the luxury tier, yet the synthetic edge on the citron makes the top notes feel less expensive than the bottle suggests.
