Bouquet Red asks for patience and rewards it grudgingly. The opening is loud and unrefined, with saffron and jasmine colliding in a way that feels abrasive rather than intriguing. It takes a long time for the edges to soften, and not everyone will want to wait. Once it settles, the fragrance reveals its actual character. The animalic lift of ambergris and the resinous heat of amberwood give it a plush, slightly dirty warmth that feels far more expensive than the opening suggests. Lavender enters later, not as a fresh accent but as a powdered, aromatic haze that blurs the sharper spices. Cedar and balsam fir anchor the base with a dry, green-tinged woodiness that stops the sweetness from becoming flat. The sillage stays close to the skin, but the scent itself lingers well into the night. You do not reach for this when the room is bright. It belongs in dim light, on skin that is already warm, worn by someone who is comfortable being difficult in public.
