Tea Rose opens on a soft clash of peony and chamomile, more herbal than sweet, like walking past a garden bed that has just been watered. The name promises a simple rose soap but the fragrance is busier than that suggests: three roses layered on top of each other, Bulgarian and Damask sitting under the fresher tea rose note, giving the heart a slightly green, aromatic edge that steers clear of the powdery hush most rose florals reach for.
Underneath, geranium and violet leaves keep things crisp, while cedarwood gives the drydown just enough structure to stop it turning into potpourri. The trail digs in and holds its shape stubbornly, wearing well past the point where a lighter rose soap would have faded. Diffusion keeps a small, steady radius, noticeable mainly to someone standing close enough for conversation, so it never turns into a fragrance you have to manage in a crowded room.
Daylight favors it most, spring mornings especially, when the herbal top notes still have room to breathe before the rose fully takes over. What lingers longest is that green, slightly bracing edge, more garden cutting than bouquet, right up through the cedarwood drydown.
