Perfumer's Workshop’s Tea Rose opens with a surprisingly soft hand. Peony and chamomile offer a gentle, slightly herbal floralcy before the main event arrives. Then the roses tumble in, tea rose leading the charge backed by damask and Bulgarian. It’s a clear, almost translucent bouquet, not jammy or heady. The green leaves and violet leaf in the base keep everything grounded and fresh, with cedar adding just enough crispness to prevent any sweetness from cloying.
The overall character is a greenhouse after a light rain, dewy and airy, with petals still wet and stems slightly woody. This is a naturalistic rose, not a synthetic bomb, though the sillage is modest at a three point five. It stays close, which suits the scent’s quiet confidence. Longevity is respectable, easily three or four hours, then fades to a soft memory of violet and cedar.
Wear this on a spring morning when the world is waking up, or on a breezy summer afternoon. It’s a daytime affair, best suited to someone who loves roses but wants them clean and uncluttered. Skip it if you crave drama or projection. Tea Rose doesn’t shout. It simply exists, perfectly at ease.
