Thumri opens with a dense collision of Turkish rose and bergamot, the citrus bright but immediately pulled downward by a heavy oud. The rose here is not delicate. It feels thick, almost syrupy, and the oud adds a dry, resinous edge that keeps the florals from floating away.
Tobacco leaves drift through the heart, light and cured, rubbing against the damp earth of patchouli and turmeric. Ginger provides a sharp, fleeting heat that vanishes into the cool, rooty scent of Himalayan nard. The animalic base arrives early, a mix of castoreum and civet that smells of warm skin and deep fur, softened by the powdery sweep of benzoin and tonka bean.
Vanilla and amber oil wrap the entire composition in a golden, sticky haze, while oakmoss and labdanum ground the sweetness with a damp, forest-floor weight. It smells like a heavy velvet curtain in a room lit only by amber lamps, the fabric dense and smelling of old wood, dried flowers, and the heat of bodies pressed close together.
