Ray-Flection opens with a bright, almost brittle crackle of aldehydes and yellow mandarin, the citrus sharpened by a puff of cardamom. This is not a lazy splash of sunshine; it is a deliberate, focused beam. The heart unfolds into mimosa absolute, which here is not the fluffy powder of the mimosa tree but a denser, more solar bloom, thickened by violet leaf’s green, slightly metallic edge. And then comes the drydown: a warm, honeyed beeswax that clings to a clean musk and dry cedar. The whole thing feels like a sunbeam caught in a jar of honey, still warm from the sill.
The character is powdery and aldehydic, yes, but also faintly animalic beneath the polish. It smells natural in its materials but constructed with the clean precision of a niche house. The longevity is moderate, about three to four hours, and the sillage is soft, a personal aura rather than a room-filler. Is that a weakness?
