Mauna
Fragrance notes
Character
Mauna asks a lot before it gives much back. The opening is sharp and dry, with black pepper and ginger biting straight into the skin while frankincense curls upward in a thin, resinous thread. It takes patience to move through this phase, and some will find the wait unrewarding. This is not a fragrance that tries to charm on first contact.
Composed by Cristiano Canali, it settles into sandalwood and benzoin that feel warm and slightly powdery, then deepens through tonka bean, styrax, musk and a soft velvet accord. The amber and balsamic tones create a heavy, aromatic weight that suits someone who wants to feel enclosed rather than noticed. It is for the wearer who enjoys sitting with a single, steady mood and does not need a scent to perform for a room.
Mauna belongs in a dimly lit space where conversation stays low and the air feels thick with resin and wood. It fits a person who wants to disappear into a scent that feels private and slightly solemn. You are walking through a stone corridor where the walls are coated in warm resin and the floor is covered in deep, unlit velvet.
