Our take

Primas opens with a slap of tart green mango and sharp grapefruit that feel like you’ve just sliced into unripe fruit on a humid morning. The bergamot and palisander rosewood thread through with a rosy, woody crispness that keeps the citrus from turning sour. Within minutes, the heart shifts: patchouli and cedar ground the tropical burst with earthy heft, while jasmine adds a faint, almost powdery floral sweetness that feels strangely out of place, as if someone dropped a gardenia into a fruit basket. The dry down settles into a familiar mossy amber base oakmoss and labdanum and musk that is warm, slightly sweet, and entirely predictable.

This is not a fragrance that will haunt you. With longevity and sillage hovering around the 3.8 and 3.4 mark, it stays close to the skin for a few hours then fades politely. The overall character is like a half-remembered vacation a slice of mango left on a sun-warmed table, the juice drying into a sticky patchouli stain. It feels moderately synthetic, more mainstream niche than artisan, with a sweetness that leans toward the come-hither side rather than the earthy, dark jungle you might expect from the notes. Best suited for spring and summer daytime wear, this is a safe pick for someone who wants a fresh but not aquatic tropical, but skip it if you crave depth or projection. One spray is plenty for brunch; two might leave you reapplying by dusk.
