Our take

Raspberry and damask rose sit beside cumin and pink pepper here. The fruit is tart rather than syrupy. Artemisia and cade oil pull the floral edge into something dry and resinous. Cashmeran and ambroxan give the blend a modern synthetic sheen that feels deliberate.

Patchouli and labdanum anchor the mix with a dark, earthy weight. The sweetness in the profile is balanced by the aromatic bite of the spices. It smells expensive and a little unconventional. The materials feel chosen for contrast instead of harmony.

The Society of Scent presents a composition that is dense and warm. It does not lean into the usual pretty side of rose. Cade oil and cumin make it smell lived in and slightly rough around the edges. It is a bold interpretation of a floral idea.

Jean Claude Delville built this for someone who wants rose without the romance. Wear it on a cold evening when a heavy, spicy scent feels right. It fits a dark coat and a quiet street.
