Abjar Bois
Fragrance notes
Character
Abjar Bois opens with a brisk wave of citrus and spice. Mandarin, bergamot, and grapefruit carry the first impression, while ginger and nutmeg give it a dry heat. Violet adds a cool, powdery edge that prevents the start from feeling too sharp.
The heart introduces a textured blend of jasmine, rose, and orange blossom. Leather and smoke appear alongside lavender and iris, creating a floral center that feels structured rather than soft. Pink pepper and coriander keep the spices active as myrrh adds a resinous weight.
The drydown is where the fragrance settles into its true character. Oud, sandalwood, and cedar form a dense woody foundation. Frankincense and amber provide a warm, resinous glow, while patchouli and vetiver ground the scent with earthy depth. Musk and ambroxan wrap the woods in a smooth, lasting finish.
This composition holds a lot of distinct elements, and the sheer density can feel crowded. The transition from the bright citrus to the heavy resins happens quickly, leaving little room for the middle notes to breathe. It is a demanding scent that requires patience to appreciate its full scope.
