Rhubarb and balsam fir open the composition with a sharp, green edge that feels crisp and slightly resinous. The rhubarb brings a tart fruitiness that avoids sourness, while the fir adds a cool, needle-like freshness. This opening is bright and immediately recognizable, steering clear of heavy sweetness at the start.
Tobacco, cedar, and frangipani form the heart. The tobacco is dry and leafy rather than smoky, supported by the clean, dry wood of the cedar. Frangipani introduces a soft floral creaminess that bridges the gap between the sharp top and the rich base. These notes create a texture that is both aromatic and lightly powdery.
The base settles into tonka bean, musk, benzoin, and the remaining cedar. Tonka bean and benzoin provide a deep vanilla sweetness that is warm and amber-like, while musk adds a smooth, skin-close softness. The sweetness here is prominent, matching the vanilla and amber accords without becoming cloying.
