Our take

RSX: Misk opens with a rough, animalic castoreum that meets dry incense. The first minutes feel dense and slightly abrasive, which suits a fragrance that refuses to soften its edges for a polite entrance. Candle wax and sea salt arrive soon after, turning the air slightly humid and domestic. It smells like a room that has been lived in rather than staged for guests.

The drydown is where the composition settles into its true character. Benzoin and sandalwood wrap the earlier notes in a warm, balsamic resin that feels thick and slightly powdery. Patchouli anchors the base with an earthy depth that keeps the sweetness grounded. The salty accord lingers through the final stages, preventing the amber and wood from becoming too heavy. It is a musky, smoky finish that feels intimate and slightly worn, as if the fragrance has merged with the skin rather than sitting on top of it.

This is not a bright or easy wear. It suits someone who enjoys leather and animalic accords and does not mind a scent that feels unwashed in the best sense. Skip it if you prefer airy citrus or clean laundry musks. RSX: Misk smells like the inside of a wooden drawer lined with old velvet, where a beeswax candle once burned down to the socket.
