Dans Les Bois
Fragrance notes
Character
Dans Les Bois opens with balsam fir, saffron, and almond. The fir provides a crisp, resinous green edge that fades quickly on the skin. Saffron adds a dry, slightly metallic heat that disappears almost as soon as the almond softens the start with a powdery, marzipan-like smoothness. This initial phase is fleeting, leaving only a faint trace of the spice within a short span.
The heart introduces ambroxan, amber, and night blooming jasmine. Ambroxan and amber create a warm, musky foundation that sits very close to the body, never expanding outward. The jasmine offers a fresh, indolic floral touch that blends into the amber rather than standing out. This middle section feels intimate, with the scent remaining personal and quiet against the skin throughout its wear.
Cedar, moss, and ambergris form the base. The cedar brings a dry, clean woodiness, while moss adds an earthy, damp quality that grounds the composition. Ambergris contributes a subtle saline musk that lingers near the surface. The overall character is amber, woody, fresh spicy, aromatic, musky, conifer, fresh, and warm spicy. The fragrance concludes on this mossy, cedar accord.
