Our take

Woman III opens with a sharp, glittering burst of aldehydes and pepper that immediately sets it apart from the floral crowd. Bay leaf and nutmeg add a savory, almost herbal kick while Brazilian rosewood and bergamot provide a citrusy warmth. The transition is seamless, the heart arriving as a dense, honeyed bouquet of tuberose, jasmine, and carnation, threaded with orris root’s powdery iris. This is a grand, unapologetically full-bodied floral, but the real magic happens in the drydown, where oakmoss, patchouli, and vetiver wrestle the sweetness into a mossy, resinous amber. Coconut and vanilla soften the edges without turning cloying.

The overall character is like an old library in a tropical greenhouse, leather bindings mingling with damp earth and overblown white flowers. It feels heavy but not suffocating, natural in its raw richness yet unmistakably niche in its refusal to compromise. With longevity well above four hours and sillage that settles into a polite but persistent aura, it wears best in cool weather, autumn and winter especially, and suits a confident person who loves complexity. Skip it if you prefer clean, linear scents or shy away from bold chypres. Day or night, this is an armchair fragrance, one to sink into rather than announce. Weakness? The opening can be a little brash, but patience rewards.
