Our take

Cardamom and ginger spark first, warm and a little peppery, with bergamot cutting through before lavender and geranium settle the fragrance into cool, herbal territory. Staying power is average, comfortable for a normal stretch of wear, and the sillage stays fairly contained, easy to catch for whoever's standing close. Dominique Ropion built this around a sharp, blue-tinted take on the aromatic fougère template, leaning into lavender and cedar and away from anything sweet or gourmand.

Geranium adds a green, slightly rosy edge through the heart, and vetiver deepens the base without ever turning heavy. Cardamom returns faintly in the drydown too, a warm spice ghost against all that cool lavender, and cedar gives the base a dry, sharp backbone.

It reads crisp and clean, best suited to cooler weather given how much lavender and cedar dominate. This works well as a personal, everyday scent rather than a statement piece, understated in a way that rewards people who already like classic lavender fougères. There isn't much here to surprise a seasoned wearer of the genre, but the execution is clean and well balanced from start to finish.
