Our take

Mon Paris is built for daylight almost to a fault, all fruit and white flowers with barely a shadow anywhere in the composition. Strawberry, raspberry, pear and citrus arrive together at the start, sweet and juicy without much restraint, and calone adds a faint watery edge underneath before peony, jasmine and datura take over into a full, heady white floral.

The patchouli listed in the base is easy to miss on first wear, buried as it is under so much fruit and flower, but it becomes more obvious as the top notes thin out. Without it the fragrance would risk feeling flat by the end; with it, there is at least some dry ground under all that sweetness.

Moss and cedar bring a bit more weight to the base, though white musk and vanilla keep the finish soft rather than dark.

It settles into a comfortable, ordinary hold once worn, best suited to spring and summer daytime, and it wears close enough to be shared, not broadcast, noticed mostly by whoever is nearby. Underneath all that fruit sits dry, earthy patchouli, an armful of ripe berries slowly turning toward forest floor.
