Cœr de Minuit
Fragrance notes
Character
Cœr de Minuit opens with a bright, fizzy lift from aldehydes and red berries, quickly joined by the heat of bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger. The spices feel vivid and immediate, while the berries add a tart gleam that keeps the start from feeling heavy.
Carnation and damask rose sit at the center, supported by frankincense, iris, jasmine, orchid, and violet. The flowers read more powdered than dewy, with iris lending a soft, rooty texture. Frankincense adds a resinous weight that pulls the bouquet toward something solemn and slightly austere.
Sandalwood, ambrette, oud, kunzea, musk, and ambergris form a deep, resonant base. The oud feels smooth rather than aggressive, and the sandalwood rounds the edges of the resin. Musk and ambergris create a skinlike warmth that suits a dim room lit by candlelight. The overall impression is warm spicy, woody, and powdery.
