Rayong Fleur
Fragrance notes
Character
The lantern light at a late dinner catches the rim of a snifter, and Rayong Fleur sits in the warm air between the table and the garden. Cognac and apricot open the evening with a soft, golden weight, touched by the green stem of lily-of-the-valley and the honeyed lift of narcissus. The fruit feels ripe rather than sugary, a slice of dried apricot resting beside a glass rather than a poured cordial.
As the meal continues, the floral heart deepens. Narcissus returns with osmanthus and tuberose, their creaminess threaded by the resinous curl of frankincense and the bright, tea-like shimmer of champaca. The white and yellow flowers press close together, lush and slightly heavy, while the frankincense keeps the petals from floating away into something purely decorative.
Ambergris and natural musk settle under the flowers, joined by the sharp, unmistakable breath of civet and the dry, splintered wood of oud. The animalic accord is the point where some will step back, because the civet here is not a whisper and it does not soften for the room. Rayong Fleur asks for skin that welcomes that edge, and it will feel out of place on anyone looking for a clean, powdery floral without the bite.
