Our take

Sutro smells like a bowl of ripe peach slices resting on a warm wooden table next to a burning stick of frankincense. Jinx Smells skips the usual citrus splash and moves straight into that soft, creamy fruit, but the pandanus and lemongrass keep it from feeling heavy or syrupy. There is a salty whisper of seaweed in the background that makes the whole composition feel like it was assembled near the ocean, not in a laboratory. The champaca and tuberose add a golden floral thickness that leans tropical rather than garden-like, and the cinnamon gives the opening a gentle spark without turning sharp.

The base is a dense blend of Mysore sandalwood and oud that grounds the fruit and flowers in something darker and more resinous. Tonka bean and labdanum push the sweetness forward, so the drydown feels rich and slightly powdery. Composed by Arthur Clay Emrick, this is a fragrance for someone who enjoys tropical accords but wants them wrapped in smoke and wood. It suits humid evenings and relaxed weekends, though the synthetic edge of the musk can feel a bit flat against the natural depth of the sandalwood. The tobacco note also stays faint, offering only a dry shadow instead of the full, leafy warmth the heart promises.
