Defend
Fragrance notes
Character
Defend opens with a brisk mix of cypress, black pepper, and fresh-cut grass. The pepper provides a sharp, dry bite that immediately cuts through the cooler green of the cypress. Grass adds a damp, realistic leafiness that feels alive rather than manicured. This introduction is clean and angular, establishing a forest floor atmosphere that is bright and assertive without leaning into sweetness.
The heart develops into a denser arrangement of cedar, galbanum, pine, and resins. Galbanum introduces a bitter, sap-like quality that deepens the green theme, while the pine offers a dry, needle-like sharpness. Cedar grounds the center with a dry woodiness, and the resins begin to show a faint amber warmth. The overall impression is aromatic and balsamic, moving from the fresh opening toward a more serious, structured middle that feels natural and slightly austere.
Oakmoss and frankincense in the base bring a mossy, slightly earthy weight to the finish. The frankincense adds a clean, pale smoke that pairs with the lingering resins to create a balsamic trail. It suits a walk through a garden where the sun hits the trees and the air smells of crushed leaves and dry bark.
