Our take

Dolls opens with a crisp, almost powdered cherry blossom, a faintly medicinal geranium, and the boozy, herbaceous tang of davana. It feels like stepping into a vintage toy shop where the air is sweet with orange blossom and old wood. The heart is where this fragrance gets interesting and dangerous. Maple syrup drips over ylang-ylang and rose, turning the floral into something sticky, almost edible, while apple blossom keeps it from tipping fully into gourmand territory. Then the base arrives: a synthetic snow accord that smells like cold vinyl, undercut by musky animal notes and a whisper of ambergris. The cedar is barely there, a skeleton in the closet. The overall effect is like a porcelain doll with a syrup-stained mouth, left out in a thaw. The sweetness is sharp, the florals feel deliberately artificial, and the animalic base gives it a faintly unsettling warmth. This is niche in the best sense, but be warned: longevity is a brief 2.88, and sillage barely brushes past you. It suits someone who loves conceptual, slightly grotesque fragrances, especially for daytime in spring or winter. Skip it if you want a crowd-pleaser or anything that lasts through lunch. Wear it to a museum on a cold, sunny morning. Where does that cherry blossom go so quickly? Into the snow, leaving only a musky ghost.
