Our take

Parasite opens with a startling jolt of cut grass and shimmering aldehydes, a green, fizzy slap that feels like walking into a greenhouse after a sudden rain shower. The heart blooms with damp lily-of-the-valley and freesia, all watery translucence and white petals, but this is no heavy floral — the aquatic notes keep everything airy, almost sterile. As it settles, the base introduces a soft drift of ambroxan, clean patchouli, and a whisper of vetiver and myrrh, but the whole affair remains whisper-thin. The overall character is like a single dewdrop on a blade of grass; beautiful, transient, and gone before you can properly admire it. Mark Buxton crafts an intriguing tension between the crisp, synthetic aldehydes and the natural greenness, but the longevity clocks in at a disappointing 2.90, and the sillage barely registers at 2.23. This is a scent for the quiet moments of spring and summer, best worn in daylight when its fleeting freshness can catch a breeze. It suits anyone who loves green florals and doesn't mind reapplying, but if you demand presence or lasting power, skip it. Parasite is a lovely ghost of a fragrance, a delicate sketch rather than a finished portrait.
