Our take

A low wooden table holds a half-poured glass of dark rum beside a plate of dried figs and sliced grapefruit. The air carries tobacco smoke that has settled into the grain of the oak walls. Someone has opened a bottle of Tabachcha, and the room fills with its thick, sweet spice. The grapefruit brightens the opening, but the dried fruits and tobacco arrive immediately to pull it toward something heavier.

Rum and syrup wrap around the rose at the heart of the fragrance. The flower does not smell fresh here. It smells steeped, almost candied, sitting inside the dark liquid notes that give the air a sticky, golden weight. Vanilla from the base rises early, blending with the syrup to create a dense sweetness that clings to the space.

Oak and musk ground the composition, adding a dry, woody shadow beneath the sugar. The tobacco remains present throughout, lending a rough, leafy texture to the smooth vanilla and fruit. It is a scent that feels rich and enveloping, built from heavy materials that press close to the skin. The powdery accord softens the edges of the rum and the sharp tobacco leaf.

The sweetness is the defining feature here, and it is relentless. Composed by Tatiana Naumova, this EVOY release offers no dry break from the syrup and vanilla. The rum note leans heavily into sugar rather than spice, and the dried fruits only deepen the candy-like impression. It becomes cloying for anyone who prefers a dry, bitter tobacco or a crisp citrus finish.
