Our take

Napoleon opens with lime, Amalfi lemon, and verbena. The citrus is bright and immediate, giving the fragrance a clear start that feels clean and direct. These top notes provide a sharp lift that carries into the rest of the composition without losing their shape.

The heart introduces juniper berries, cloves, tobacco, pepper, immortelle, and rosemary. The tobacco and spice sit alongside the herbs, creating a warm and aromatic middle that feels dense but not heavy. The pepper adds a dry edge while the immortelle brings a sweet, hay-like quality that rounds out the sharper elements.

The base notes of Virginia cedar, myrrh, black spruce, labdanum, citruses, vetiver, and jasmine settle the fragrance into a woody and amber-rich finish. The cedar and vetiver give structure while the myrrh and labdanum add a resinous depth. The citruses reappear here, tying the opening back to the drydown. It suits a bright room filled with morning light and open windows. The overall character stays aromatic, fresh spicy, warm spicy, citrus, amber, sweet, and tobacco.
