Hidden Amber
Fragrance notes
Character
Frankincense and bergamot open with a resinous citrus bite. Ylang-ylang follows, soft and tropical, curling around the sharper edges. Iris and violet bring a cool, powdered floral layer that sits close to the skin. Lotus adds a faint aquatic lift, though it stays in the background.
Cedar and styrax ground the blend with dry wood and a warm, balsamic weight. Amber wraps the entire composition in a golden, slightly sweet haze. The texture feels smooth and deliberate, leaning more toward a niche aesthetic than a mass-market spray. It suits a dimly lit room, a heavy sweater, and the quiet of a cold night when the air feels still.
Guillaume Flavigny composed this for John Richmond in 2022. It is for someone who enjoys powder as much as resin. Those who dislike heavy floral woods should look elsewhere. The drydown is a steady mix of amber and iris.
