Our take

Dulce de leche and praline sit at the base of Good Girl Legere, a caramel undertow that shows up even while the top notes are still citrus-bright. Tuberose and orange blossom take over the heart, dense and white-floral, backed by jasmine and Bulgarian rose. It digs in and resists an early fade, and it keeps a compact presence, noticed by whoever's close enough to talk without pushing much further than that. Cinnamon and cashmirwood run underneath the florals, adding a warm, spicy grain to what would otherwise be a fairly sweet composition.

By the drydown, sandalwood, musk and patchouli pull the caramel back from the edge of candy, cedar adding a dry, woody spine underneath. The lactonic quality in the florals gives them a milky edge rather than a sharp one.

Fall and winter carry it best, when the caramel and warm spice read as seasonal, not heavy, and it wears more comfortably after dark than it does in bright daylight. Louise Turner built it as a lighter companion to the original Good Girl, and the sweetness stays soft, never syrupy.

What lingers longest is the caramel note underneath everything else, showing up again each time the florals fade back a step, a warm thread running the length of the wear from the citrus opening to the woody base.
