ESPIRÍTU opens with a crisp herbal slap of sage, quickly softened by the cool, powdery whisper of iris. The heart is a quiet dance of rose and osmanthus, the latter lending a faint fruity blush that keeps the floral from feeling too prim. As it settles, tobacco leaf and leather emerge, but they’re restrained, more the memory of a leather-bound notebook than a new jacket. Oakmoss and labdanum ground everything in earthy resin, while carrot adds a strange, rooty dustiness that pulls the whole composition toward the ground. The dry down is a soft, intimate haze of powder and dry tobacco, with the floral notes fading into a ghost of violet.
