Our take

Lemon and bitter orange crack open sharp and green, like peeling citrus under a hot sun, but it’s the geranium that makes that opening feel almost prickly, alive with chlorophyll. The heart is where this fragrance earns its curious name. Mastic or lentisque brings a resinous, terpenic bite, while iris dusts everything in a pale, rooty powder, and pistachio adds a whisper of pale green nuttiness, not sweet, more like crushed shells in a mortar. Then vetiver and sandalwood pull the whole thing into a dry, woody base with labdanum lending a faint leathery warmth. The overall effect is a young olive tree after a spring rain, its leaves glistening with resin, the soil beneath damp and tangled with wild herbs.

This feels natural through and through, almost botanical in its rawness, but it leans more niche than mainstream, not because it’s loud or challenging, but because it refuses to pander. The longevity and sillage are genuinely frustrating, barely three hours before it retreats to a skin scent, and you’ll be reaching for a reapply by lunch. That makes it best suited to those who value atmosphere over performance, who want a fragrance that whispers, even if it leaves you alone too soon. Spring and summer are its natural habitat, mostly daytime wear when you want to feel clean without smelling like a cocktail. Skip it if you need projection or a full day’s return on investment, but if you love the smell of earth, citrus rind, and dry wood, this is a small, lovely moment, one that dissolves before you’ve fully caught it.
