Our take

Eau du Soir Skies opens with a brisk citrus pair. Grapefruit and mandarin orange provide a bright, slightly tart entrance that feels clean and immediate. The introduction is brief and serves mainly to lead into the heavier elements that follow. It does not linger as a dominant theme once the heart notes begin to assert themselves.

The middle section is dense and layered. Moss and juniper bring a green, resinous quality that mingles with the earthiness of patchouli. Pepper adds a sharp edge to the soft petals of jasmine, rose, and lilac. Iris and carnation sit alongside ylang-ylang and lily-of-the-valley, creating a floral bouquet that feels textured rather than sweet. Labdanum anchors this complex heart with a warm, slightly sticky resin. The base of amber and musk wraps these notes in a golden, skin-like warmth that feels rich and settled.

The composition carries a distinct weight that suits a bright, breezy morning with a cool edge in the air. It feels sophisticated and mature. The one limitation is the density of the heart. With twelve notes competing for attention, the individual character of the jasmine and rose can get lost in the moss and spice, making the floral identity feel somewhat crowded.
