Cherniy Pavlin opens with black pepper that provides a sharp, immediate lift. The spice is clear and present without overwhelming the entrance. From there, the heart moves into a dense floral blend. Myrtle adds a green, slightly medicinal edge to the rose, iris, ylang-ylang, and jasmine. The flowers do not smell light or dewy. They feel dry and arranged, with the iris contributing a soft powder that sits against the brighter green of the myrtle.
The base is extensive and heavily resinous. Myrrh and incense lead the transition, bringing a deep, smoky weight that merges with sandalwood and atlas cedar. Tolu balsam and labdanum add a sweet, sticky resin quality, while elemi and patchouli keep the texture rough and earthy. Musk ties the heavier materials together, resulting in a profile that is amber-heavy, balsamic, and distinctly woody.
