Our take

Aubres argues that a resinous fragrance can belong in the open air. It opens with Italian lemon and bergamot that feel sunlit rather than tart. The citrus does not retreat quickly. It stays present while the heart builds, which is the first reason this composition works outside. You get brightness that does not vanish once the heavier materials arrive.

The center makes the case through elemi, incense, myrtle, basil, lavender, and galbanum. The herbs and the smoke sit side by side without one overwhelming the other. The basil and myrtle keep the resin from feeling enclosed, while the lavender smooths the edges of the galbanum. It is aromatic and green in a way that feels deliberate.

Chris Maurice composed a base that supports the argument instead of ending it. Labdanum, Atlas cedar, and patchouli give weight, but the lemon and bergamot have already done their work. The amber and balsamic tones never clog the space the top notes opened. This is for someone who wants resin without losing the sky.

Wear it while walking a stone path between dry hedges while the air still carries the warmth of the morning.
